but title ambition lives on From The Argus Oh were we relegated today? You'd think so by the number of negative postings today! I recall when we got promoted to the Championship we lost the last game or two of the season and one of those was against Southampton, of all teams.

Then we did well the next season. The plain fact is that the players put in a gut busting performance in each of the run of those five wins which secured our promotion that it is understandable that their performance has tailed off since then. I'm sure that the loss of Duffy and Baldock has not helped either. We have also had to manage without the Kayal of last season not sure why he is half the player that he was last year. No doubt we will strengthen the team for next season so let just enjoy being promoted and look forward with anticipation to the next action packed season and to seeing who we sign. I will be happy to stick with Chris Hughton for next season as he has worked wonders on a limited budget. I have confidence in him to get the right players in and to make a fair fist of it next year. I am sure that had those two been playing in the last two games we would already be Champions instead of next week. (I have a sneaky feeling we will make it.)We need some speed up front and without Balders we struggle and have no quick outlet. Claude Back I agree about Duffy and Balders. (I have a sneaky feeling we will make it.)We need some speed up front and without Balders we struggle and have no quick outlet. Many valid points on a number of threads. Since Kayal's injury he has not been the player of last season for sure. Hemmed has been immense in his commitment the last 2 seasons but can he cut in prem. unlikely but he does deserve a chance as does Beram. Bong,Norwood,Skalak Murphy and even though his efforts have been good Sidwell is past it at prem level. Bruno and Sidwell need to be kept if only for their immense experience. Murray will be back up third or fourth choice striker. What worried me today was we kept pumping in crosses which to a big defence was meat and drink we needed to fine a way but just had no guile to change tack. It's no disaster but we could do with winning at Villa to regain our mojo. Many valid points on a number of threads. Since Kayal's injury he has not been the player of last season for sure. He needs the service and CH I'm sure will look at how he gets the service in the premier league. The team was under par yesterday but I thought it was a very well thought out performance by Bristol City. They rarely left 1 defender isolated vs AK and they were very well organised against crosses.

Once again the lack of a support striker and attacking midfielder was shown up. These are the 2 roles where the most money needs to be spent. We're too reliant on the wingers, particularly AK and also Baldock being fit.
